School Leadership Update

As the Principal and Head of Primary Mathematics at CS Academy, Trichy Road Campus, I am privileged to lead a vibrant institution that prioritizes nurturing and empowering every child. With over 15 years of experience in education, my mission has always been to create an environment where students not only excel academically but also grow into confident, independent learners ready to embrace life's challenges.

A highlight of my professional journey has been earning the prestigious Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainners. (CIDTT)—a recognition that continually inspires me to raise the bar for both student and teacher development.

At CS Academy, we uniquely blend the best practices of the CBSE and Cambridge curricula, offering a strong academic foundation from the primary level. This approach cultivates critical thinking, creativity, and a global outlook—attributes essential for thriving in today’s interconnected world.

As a Primary Mathematics teacher, my goal is to ensure every child enjoys learning Mathematics and develops a genuine love for the subject. I strive to make math classes engaging by challenging students with open-ended and reasoning-based questions that spark curiosity and critical thinking. It’s truly fulfilling to watch them explore concepts, embrace challenges, and grow in confidence as young problem-solvers.

Beyond the classroom, I am deeply passionate about mentoring fellow educators. I regularly conduct specialized training sessions focused on effective teaching strategies, innovative assessments, and creating student-centered classrooms. These efforts aim to equip our teachers with tools to engage every learner and help them thrive.

I look forward to continuing this journey of growth, innovation, and inspiration with our students, teachers, and the wider school community. Together, we are building a foundation for lifelong success!

Follow our journey at CS Academy and witness how we’re transforming education every day!

STUDENT PERSPECTIVE

The Spine-Chilly Warning

I once sat in an ecstatic seashore,
And never returned home anymore.
I picked up a flashing opal,
And eyed a jelly propel.
Suddenly I noticed an unearthly sound,
Which was the rustle of a scroll which was bound.
I then opened the scroll with all my might,
Tirelessly until the last second of the night.
The bound scroll read,
“Look above your head!”,
I then twisted my head up like a cheetah,
And then became I, who was filled with anti-euphoria.
A ripple of water splattered on my head,
“AAARGH!” I said,
A grey spine-chilling figure emerged,
The blues and blacks of the sky merged.
It’s hairs were swooping in the spooky air,
That was the moment I went agitated and blare.
It groaned like a valiant beast,
And then did my bones went greased.
The valiant beast had a tentacle,
Which was ultra-larger than a spectacle,
The tentacle crept closer to my nose,
Which seemed like my foe.
It rotated its eye suspiciously,
And I escaped curiously,
A whirl of a thunder was heard,
which was a raindrop herd.
I then thought to myself,
That this is a sceptical time to wander,
The seashore is very perilous
And an ominous storm is creeping near me.

Tempest in a Poem - Ananyaa, 9E

In an Island far away,
Where magical creatures stray.
Lived Miranda and Prospero,
With magic, peace and sorrow.

Prospero's nemesis arrives-
A grand big ship he drives
Prospero is filled with rage,
He summons Ariel- a spirit so strange.

A disastrous storm hits
Caused by peculiar spirits
Pitiful Miranda snapped
Her father makes her understand

Prospero reveals pasts of his kingdom.
Ariel wants freedom.
Ferdinand enchanted by magical music,
Miranda and him fall in love -how romantic

Meanwhile, the loss of his son- Alonso’s grieving.
“Cheer up” the other’s pleading.
Mischievous Ariel brings slumber to Alonso,
Antonio prompts Sebastian to murder his own bro.

They raise their swords all ready to kill,
And vengeance is in the air still.
But Ariel ruins the mid snooze assassination,
He makes the two realise their sins.

Trinculo- the jester, searching for land.
Stephano- the butler, washed up drunk on the sand.
Stephano pours into Caliban’s mouth- wine.
The booze acts up, about prospero he whines.

Caliban praises Stephano calling him god,
Trinculo for one is quite shocked.
Caliban wants stephano to rule the island,
So he can be free of prospero - the tyrant.

Somewhere else, Miranda sneaks out.
To meet her beloved, that’s no doubt.
Ferdinand seems to be noble.
Prospero doubts him because he’s royal.

Ariel warns Prospero of Caliban.
To stop him, they think of a plan.
Ariel lures them to a trap with new clothes.
None would’ve thought of that as a coax.

Miranda and Ferdinand approach Prospero,
To talk their true love through.
For their marriage he agrees,
And arranges an event for them with glee.

In the meantime, Alonso and others face the blue.
Ariel gives them a talking to-
Disguised as a perilous harpy,
He makes them all feel guilty.

Alonso and Antonio finally find Prospero.
They apologise and express their sorrow.
Prospero’s grudges are finally gone,
Alonso’s happy to see his son.

Ariel finally gets his freedom,
All of them go back to their kingdom.
Antonio, who was once a villain
Now rules with Prospero - Milan.

Debate - Watching movies vs Reading books by Ananya and Shmrithini Sai from 4A

Ananya: Good morning to one and all. I am here to share a debate that my friend and I had regarding watching movies and reading books. I prefer watching movies more. Let us see why.

Stress management: Watching TV helps us to relax and relieve stress. A stress-free time is very important to us. Watching a good movie with a positive note helps our brain to refresh and relax.

Educational programming: Watching educational channels helps us to get updated with many facts and gain knowledge in all fields.

News: We can get up-to-date news of what is going on all around the world by watching the news every day.

Multi-language: We get familiar with other languages when we watch other language movies.

Visualising: Any visual content helps us to remember things easily. Watching historic movies and documentaries makes it easy to remember and visualise the real scenario.

Yes, watching TV has many advantages yet it has disadvantages too. Too much of TV is not good for the eyes. Not more than one hour of screen time is okay. Hence, watch TV with some time limit or it will lead to eyesight issues.

Shmrithini Sai: Good morning to one and all present here. I’m here to present a debate on the topic "Reading Books vs Watching Movies. I would choose to read a book over watching a movie. Here are some reasons why:

Reading books can be important for many reasons, including,

1. Mental stimulation: Reading can improve your memory, focus and concentration. It can also help you think analytically.

2. Vocabulary expansion: Reading can introduce you to new words, which can help you communicate more effectively.

3. Writing skills: Reading can help you learn different writing styles which can improve your writing skills.

4. Critical thinking skills: Reading can help you develop critical thinking skills.

5. Physical health: Reading can lower blood pressure and heart rate.

6. General knowledge: Reading can fill your head with new bits of information.

7. Creativity and imagination: Reading can help you expand your imaginative world.

On my first day of school, some of my friends were speaking English fluently. I also tried to speak English but it was too tough for me. I struggled. Suddenly, an idea popped into my head! What if I read many books and developed my language skills? Yes! From that day onwards, I read many books and explored many things.

These are some points why I feel that reading books is so beneficial. Now let us see the other side, "Watching Movies." Watching moves are not good because when we see television for a long period of time, then our eyes will get affected. One good thing is that watching movies is entertaining. But, anyways reading books is better than watching movies because it improves our vocabulary, widens our imagination and also teaches us new ideas.
